Moonrise Kingdom is a coming of age independent film following the love story of two twelve-year-olds, Sam and Suzy. Wes Anderson directed the film, set in the 1960s, lending his visual style known for its limited color palette. Illustrations paired with a limited color palette of greens and yellow helps tell the movie through a cohesive icon set. Drawing from Sam’s background as a boy scout, the concept of badges as icons came to fruition. A poster format and saddle stitch booklet format were used to dis-play the full icon set.
