The KU School of Architecture & Design has a new Dean, Dr. Mahesh Daas, who has grand visions for the school’s future. He wants “our school to be the pioneering force for global impact through design.” Along with the newly renamed building, Chalmers Hall, everything points to a much needed rebranding of the school. My rebrand proposal focuses on the basic principles of Gestalt which are covered heavily in the first year, and continue to guide the students throughout their college education. My proposed icon set focuses on these guiding principles and basic tools and rules of each trade. As for the logo, I created a custom typeface—a curvilinear sans serif. The typeface, both retro and modern in form, removes itself from becoming easily outdated.
